As part of its efforts to promote African Literature within and outside the African continent, the Pan African Writers Association ( PAWA) has concluded arrangements to partner with a Nigerian private radio station, Oxygen FM Radio to use the radio as another medium for the dissemination of literary and cultural products.
The agreement was formalized during the visit of the PAWA Secretary General, Dr Wale Okediran to the premises of the Radio station on Monday, March 30, 2026.
The Oxygen FM 96.9 radio which is based in Ibadan, Nigeria was established to inform, inspire and ignite the potential of African listeners through educational programming, innovative storytelling, community engagement, and sustainable broadcasting excellence.
Through a powerful streaming technology, the radio station has the ability to be accessed globally.
In the agreement, PAWA will in conjunction with Oxygen FM, utilize the well known role of the radio as a powerful medium of literary and cultural diffusion to organize literary events in the official PAWA languages of Arabic, English, French, Portuguese and Swahili in addition to a few indigenous African languages.
The PAWA Radio program which should commence by May 2026, will cover book reviews, marketing, short drama presentations, poetry, short stories, spoken word and other indigenous genres.
It is expected that the program will also encourage the resuscitation of the age long tradition of oral literature.

Hi,
I want to tell a true story about a five-year-old African girl who was kidnapped from her home under the color of law and trafficked into a world of violence, drugs, and prostitution in 2017 in the United States. I am not a writer; and as such, I need the assistance of a good African writer, who can make up for my lack of writing experience and is willing to work with me to illuminate this story, to the rest of the world.
This is a story that desperately needs to be in the home and heart of every parent (especially fathers) on the globe, for the purpose of illuminating the collective responsibility (and solidarity) we share in joining together and marching, as one voice, in the development of human societies, wherein the institution of family shall not be simply a pawn of the State; and the universal chorus, in the collective voice, will bring to an end to illegal practices of governmental and judicial overreach, where it exists. Please tell me how to start reaching out to writers across Africa, the diaspora, and beyond, to establish the collaboration that I seek.
Many thanks!
