The Pan African Writers Association (PAWA) and Driving Park Ltd have jointly formed the Film Africa Network ( FAN) in a novel and historic move to screen selected African films across some African countries in a pilot project set to commence in October 2026.
In the realization of this, Country Representatives in 25 African countries were recently picked to supervise the screening of 10 different films previously selected by a panel of literary and film experts.
The aim of the pilot project among others is to encourage the cross cultural exchange of African films across the continent as well as establishing a continuous exhibition network.
PAWA will also use the project to encourage the growing art of books to film adaptations for narratives especially in indigenous African languages.
While thanking the CEO of Driving Park Ltd, Ms Ruby Ofori for the partnership, the Secretary General of PAWA, Dr Wale Okediran also expressed the Association ‘s immense gratitude to the PAWA members who volunteered to serve as Judges and Country Representatives for the project. for the partnership, the Secretary General of PAWA, Dr Wale Okediran also expressed the Association ‘s immense gratitude to the PAWA members who volunteered to serve as Judges and Country Representatives for the project.
