In continuation of the long standing relationship between the Pan African Writers Association ( PAWA) and the Embassy of the Republic of Algeria in Ghana, both parties have agreed to continue to work together in 2026 on a number of literary events.
The decision was taken during a recent meeting between the Algerian Ambassador to Ghana, H.E. Mourad Louhaidia and the Secretary General of PAWA, Dr Wale Okediran at the Algerian Embassy in Accra, Ghana.
It is on record that the Algerian Embassy had previously supported PAWA’s participation on a number of occasions at the prestigious Algerian International Book Fair in Algiers.
In addition, the Embassy contributed immensely to the success of the first Ama Ata Aidoo Conference organized by PAWA, Gemspread Publishing and the African University of Communication and Business, Accra Ghana in August 2025 during the Ghana International Book Fair.
In his remarks at the meeting, Dr Okediran thanked the Algerian Embassy for its continuous support for African literature and look forward to another successful year of collaborations.
